Change does not come easily in academic libraries. A group of archivists and librarians are working together to create change in archives collection management at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Panelists will discuss their ongoing work in the Archives Subcommittee of the Collection Development and Management Committee to standardize archives management and modernize archival description across library departments.

Rachael Bussert is the Congressional Papers Archivist at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Hamilton Library. She has previously held archivist positions at Michigan Technological University and Northern Michigan University.

Archivist for University Records, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
Asako Shiba is the Archivist for University Records at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Hamilton Library. Previously, she was the Metadata/Catalog Librarian at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and held multiple librarian positions in various settings in Hawaiʻi, Missouri, and Japan.
