‘Iolani School, in partnership with Ka ‘Ohana O Kalaupapa, embarked on a year-long collaborative project to learn about Hansen’s disease/leprosy, the social impact of isolation policies on families, and the resiliency of the patients to live full lives. This session will include curriculum models and resources from teachers in History, Performing and Visual Arts, English, and Digital Media. Come and hear the amazing stories of the patients and maybe you will find family like I did!
